Journaling & planning for your mental health and wellness... Low Energy Edition

Welcome to our blog post on journaling & planning for your mental health and wellness. If you've been struggling with low mood and energy, you're not alone. Many people face these challenges daily. However, there are effective strategies you can implement to make the most of your day and improve your overall well-being.

When I went through a rough time, I found a method which always seemed to help me out of my funk. These aren't in order, it's just how I remember it lol!

  • EAT! maybe your hangry - eat something that will nourish your body and mind
  • DRINK water - I can't tell you how many times I've felt better after a walk and some water.
  • WALK - this is the best one but not for a low energy day
  • TALK - Grab a friend or a notebook or your dog! This is tricky when you don't want to because of your low energy so I would recommend the journal option?
  • SLEEP - this might be tricky. We are always on and can't nap as easily as toddlers, but if I can't take a nap, I tuck myself into bed with my kids and turn on the tv for some mindful telly. No phone, no screen, nothing but the company you are in and the mindless tv show.

Mindful telly, take yourself out of your thoughts

In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, it's all too easy to get lost in our thoughts and worries. That's where the concept of 'mindful telly' comes in. Taking a moment to immerse yourself in a carefully chosen TV show or movie can be a form of mindfulness, allowing you to temporarily step away from the constant chatter of your mind. It's a chance to be fully present in the story unfolding on the screen, engaging your senses and emotions in a different way. Mindful telly offers a valuable break from the mental noise, giving you the opportunity to relax, recharge, and gain a fresh perspective on the world around you.
