QR Codes for Journals and Scrapbooks

QR codes are a simple way to connect your paper journals and scrapbooks to digital memories like videos, voice notes or photo albums.

You stay fully in control. Nothing is uploaded or stored here.

How to Use the QR Code Generator

  1. Paste a link you already own. This could be a private video, a voice note, a photo album or a document.
  2. Click Generate QR Code.
  3. Download the QR code image.
  4. Print it, cut it out and stick it into your journal or scrapbook.

When you scan the QR code later, it opens the link you chose.

Why Use QR Codes in Journals

QR codes let you keep your journal analogue while still capturing moments that are hard to write down.

They’re perfect for:

  • Linking handwritten pages to videos or voice notes
  • Adding sound and movement to memory keeping
  • Keeping bulky digital memories off the page

Your journal stays tactile and creative, with the option to revisit a moment more fully when you want to.

How I Use Them in My Own Scrapbook

I use QR codes to link to videos and voice notes that feel too big for the page.

So far it's been our wedding videos and a video of my granny busting a move at a family wedding, amazing moments I will want to own and watch forever.

I print the QR code, trim it down and stick it beside my writing, usually with a note like “Scan this when you’re ready”.

The page stays handwritten and imperfect.

The QR code just gives me the option to relive the moment.

Printing Tips

  • Small prints work best for journals
  • Black and white scans just fine
  • Sticker paper makes it easy
  • Always test scan before sticking it down
